Plein Air is a French term that means “in the open air” referring to painting outdoors. Plein air became especially popular with impressionists, who rediscovered landscape painting and perfected color theory. Like impressions we will leave our dark studios with artificial light and brown color pallets and paint outdoors! To discover color harmonies of sunrise, afternoon, ocean scenes, estuaries, mountains, and San Diego urban life. Experience the difference in light between summer, fall and winter.
Plein air class is a great way to learn composition, color harmony, drawing as well as get to know San Diego from an artist point of view!
